Marine Corps and Bolt-M

The Marine Corps' Organic Precision Fires-Light (OPF-L) program aims to give small infantry units their own precision strike drones, rather than waiting for artillery or air support.

In January 2026 Anduril received a $23.9 million contract under OPF-L. Bolt-M is a backpack-portable loitering munition designed to need little training.

Why it matters: OPF-L is one of the clearest tests of whether loitering munitions become standard squad equipment in the U.S. military, as they have in Ukraine.
