Roadrunner, Pulsar and layered air defense
Cheap drones have made traditional air defense expensive: firing a multimillion-dollar missile at a drone that cost thousands is unsustainable. Anduril's answer is a layered kit: sensors (Sentry, Wisp, Spyglass), jamming (Pulsar), low-cost kinetic interceptors (Anvil) and a reusable jet interceptor (Roadrunner-M), all tied together by Lattice.
Anduril announced an air-defense production contract with the Defense Department in October 2024; federal award data show a U.S. Special Operations Command order for 'Roadrunner, Anvil and Quasar packages' worth about $250 million.
Why it matters: if reusable and low-cost interceptors work at scale, they change the economics of defending against drone swarms.
